News Flash! Acushnet Tugs owner Mike McDevitt and Senior Captain Bob Mitchell have been notified that they have both won the Joshua James Lifesaving Medal from the Massachusetts Humane Society. This involves the incident you see below. More details will follow soon.
Acushnet tug owner Mike McDevitt (L) and senior Captain Robert Mitchel(L) were cited by the Coast Guard recently. The citation is for seamanship in the rescue of a man who jumped off the Mystic River Bridge. McDevitt and Mitchel grabbed the badly injured man and took him to a nearby dock, saving his life. to see the text of the citation go to the "About Us" page. The Hull Selectmen also presented a citation to McDevitt and Mitchel at the begining of a recent Selectmen's Meeting.
